reducing forced treatment is contradictory to eliminating it. it starts from the wrong premise - that forced treatment is a morally, socially and legally valid response to any situation. the correct premise is that forced treatment is an act of violence, and that the CRPD committee meant what it said about everyone having legal capacity at all times including crisis situations.
people who want to use forced treatment have to reflect on their own reactions, their own fears and their own helplessness and frustration. they need to get some humility about what they don't and can't know, instead of displacing and projecting this onto their victims.
